Youth Development Professional

Part Time
Job Summary:

You will be responsible for implementation, some planning, and supervising activities provided in within a specific program areas throughout the facility for youth ages 5-13.

Key Roles

(Essential Job Responsibilities) Prepare Youth for Success Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes:

- Promote and stimulate program participation
- Provide guidance and role modeling to members
- Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety and development of members.

Program Development and Implementation

Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for drop-in members and visitors that respond to member needs and address their gender and cultural diversity.
Monitor and evaluate programs, services, and activities to ensure safety, quality in programs and appearance of clubhouse at all times. Prepare periodic activity reports.

Supervision

- Ensure productive and effective work environment
- Monitor program areas to ensure member safety
- Oversee proper record keeping and reporting including activities and events conducted, breakdowns of daily participation figures, notable achievements and any problems/issues

Additional Responsibilities

May participate in special programs or events

Knowledge / Skills Required

- Experience working with children.
- Knowledge of youth development.
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
- Ability to deal with the general public.
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Valid State Driver's License
